Rated Match Policy

On 1st January 2018, the AusBGF adopted its official results policy PDF, which is designed to establish a standard for the quality of results posted to this site.

The AusBGF policy is supplemented by local policies, which give club managers the freedom to define local rules that work for the way their events are run.

The manager for International and Inter-Club Challenges data on this site is Greg Ash.

The local policy for International and Inter-Club Challenges is as follows:

This entity is establised to allow the entry of results that include international matches that are conducted by Australian Tournament Directors that are not part of an established Club or event (eg NSW Open).

Matches will be subject to the following conditions:

* Draws will be random

* Matches will be at least 5 points with use of the doubling cube

* Crawford rule will apply

* AusBGF tournament rules and the normal rules of backgammon will apply

Tournaments will be either traditional knockout, Swiss-style or Round Robin. They may be either face-to-face or conducted online. Single games that are not part of a tournament will not be rated. Chouette matches will not be rated.
